FAQ
Most of the Coral Springs Storm teams practice
twice a week and during league play have 1
and sometimes 2 games on the weekend.
- Is Coral Springs soccer year round?
The Coral Springs Strom tries to provide year round training. In
general, the teams start
practice in August and finish up end of May. During the summer
months (June/July), the
club
tries to hold one or two optional training sessions.
The league play depends on
the age group.
For the older age groups U-15 and up, they play an early season which
starts end of
August/beginning of September and finishes before high school soccer
starts. During the
high school soccer season, some teams may practice or get together once a
week. When
high school soccer is finished, the teams get back together and start
preparing for Regional
or State Cup.
For the younger age groups U-14 and under, the teams start practicing in
August and they
play a regular season which starts in November and finishes in February.
After the regular
season finishes, the U11 to U14 teams compete in Regional Cup which starts
in March. Prior
to regular season and after Regional Cup, many teams decide to play local
tournaments.
- How far will I have to travel?
Most of the league games are played locally. That is 30 -
45 minutes north or south of
Coral Springs. Additionally, there are many local tournaments that
teams participate in.
Some teams do decided to travel out of the area for tournaments but it is
a decision made
by the coach and parents on each team.
- Is there guaranteed play time?
Coral Springs Storm is a competitive travel soccer program. There is
no guaranteed play
time.
- How much does travel soccer cost?
There is a cost to playing travel soccer. There is an initial club
registration fee. For the
2007/2008 season the registration fee is $450.00 plus referee fees for
Jamboree/Regional/State Cup. In addition to these fee, some teams
pay a monthly training
fee. The training fee amount varies per team. If a team
decides to go to a tournament, each
team is responsible for the entry
fee, coaches expenses and any travel cost involved.
If you are not a resident of Coral Springs, then you have an additional
cost of $155 per
family for the purchase of an Out of City Player Card.
